The Wolverine is a vehicle in Saints Row 2.

Overview

The Wolverine is an old WWII Fighter and handles very well for its age. Taking off is no problem, and when in the air it handles very sensitively. Combined with excellent handling, and a V12 engine, the plane has decent speed, although it doesn't match up to the speed of the Snipes 57 or the AB Destroyer. Unlike the Snipes 57, The Protagonist does not hit the wing after bailing out.

It randomly takes off and lands at Wardill Airport, and has a parked spawn point just outside of the northern hangar.

Trivia

  • The Cheat for this vehicle is #714.
  • The Wolverine can't take many shotgun hits before it explodes.
  • If the brake is applied too quickly when landing, it can get stuck nose-down and is impossible to get it moving without the aid of a car or Samurai Sword to move it back.
  • The idling sound the Wolverine makes sounds like a 60s VW Beetle, which is a sound that only 4-cylinder engines make while the Wolverine has a V12.
  • There are 2 hanging from the ceiling in the Stilwater Science Center, one with a WW2 shark face paint scheme used by the "American Volunteer Group" aka the Flying Tigers, of World War II, and another one on the second floor which is all black in color.
  • After take off, the plane takes a while to warm up in the air, but once it does, it is one of the best planes in the game.
  • The plane resembles a mixture of the real world P-51 Mustang (fuselage) and Supermarine Spitfire (Wings with integrated 7.62mm guns) and a tail from that of the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk.
  • The Wolverine's Mounted .50 cal has many of the same stats as the Tornado's Minigun/Rockets, although it does more that 3 times the damage per round and fires twice as fast, it also has a reduced spread value, which makes it more accurate. However, since the Mounted .50 cal on this plane only fire straight ahead, while the Tornado's Minigun/Rockets can fire in any direction, the Wolverine's weapon is less useful that the Tornado's.
