Redirects[]
This article is a perfect example of why redirects should be used regularly. The "Stored Vehicle Delivery" redirect has existed for almost 2 years, yet multiple articles talking about Stored Vehicle Delivery either linked directly to Garage, or didn't use a link at all.
Several articles also mentioned "Heli Homie" and others without actually linking the appropriate term.
Valid terms should always be used as redirects in the appropriate context, to allow easy updating of the redirect, and to see how often those terms are actually used.
The link Heli Homie currently points to the Stored Vehicle Delivery page, and should always be used instead of [[Stored Vehicle Delivery|Heli Homie]], otherwise we will not know which terms are actually linking to the page. -452 14:55, October 17, 2013 (UTC)
Duplication Glitch[]
Cannot confirm that it works. Yes I've seen video proofs and threads but those are dated to September and in the meantime, there has been several patches and updates. Can anyone confirm that it has been patched or otherwise? Hetalynx (talk) 13:31, January 17, 2014 (UTC)
- I also can not confirm it works, I've been trying for awhile and no dice. It may have been patched in certain versions. I am playing the National Treasure Edition for PS3 -WilliamRaine (talk) 04:35, August 9, 2016 (UTC)
- The presence of the glitch is not in question, so confirmation of the glitch is not needed at this time.
- If you think that the glitch may have been removed in a patch, then the onus is on you to confirm your hypothesis.
- With the National Treasure edition on Xbox 360, one disc is the vanilla game, and the other disc the DLC and title updates. Once installed, the title updates are visible alongside the saves and can be removed. The wiki has no information about how patches work on PS3, or about National Treasure edition of PS3, but you should first look into removing the patches, and if that is not possible, then remove the entire game and only install the vanilla game.
- I personally keep my DLC and title updates on a flash drive so I can easily switch - but I'm not sure if PS3 lets you do that.
- Once you've triggered the glitch in the vanilla game, it will be easier for you to tell if it's been removed from the patched game.
- My personal tip for locating the duplicate vehicle is to choose an area with few roads. On a long straight road, such as a bridge, you can often see the vehicle appear in front of you, otherwise you have to search all the surrounding streets.
- I'm uncertain if this has ever been confirmed for PS3, the original user was on xbox 360, as am I. Thus far, there are no known glitches which do not occur on all platforms, so it would be unusual if it didn't. -452 05:09, August 9, 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, I know the glitch exists, I've seen the videos to prove it. I wasn't questioning that. Thanks for replying so quickly, by the way.
- The PS3 version of the National Treasure Edition is one disc, and it installs everything in one go so there's no way to play it without the DLC that I can find. I've tried the duplication glitch about 8 times and have not gotten it to work, my guess it that it simply does not work on this particular version of the game. I have been reading a thread about this glitch, and people were saying if you did it in a flying vehicle, the homie would spawn in a flying vehicle. I tested that, and it doesn't work. In my game they spawn in the vehicle I am in, or they spawn mid air and fall to the ground.
- It's not the only odd thing I've noticed. Saints gang cars do not spawn in my game either, despite being able to select them in the gang customization screen. I have seen them driving around in youtube videos so it's another oddity in this version, apparently.
- If I ever manage to get the glitch to work, I'll post about it. -WilliamRaine (talk) 06:01, August 9, 2016 (UTC)
- If you're referring to User talk:Halcrow1215, I am the people who were saying that.
- Doing it with an aircraft is actually a great way to find the vehicle, since it usually appears in the air, and you can see if fall to the ground. However, since there's also a history of the retrieving an aircraft while in the air only to end up on the ground or in the water, it's also not 100% foolproof. I don't recall whether I saw a Homie when I was testing the glitch with XORs, I only definitely remember Genki Backup teleporting out of a moving Sad Panda.
- It's interesting that you mention the Homie spawning in the vehicle you are in, I don't recall that ever happening, I'll have to test it.
- The spawning in mid air part is also something interesting which I don't recall seeing, and I think that is a good indication that it might indeed be removed in a patch.
- I know there are some glitches which people couldn't replicate due to installing patches, but unfortunately, after that thread, all of the original discussion about testing the glitch occurred in the chat, of which there are no logs, so I don't have any record of what who tested what on which platforms with which patches. -452 06:38, August 9, 2016 (UTC)
- Ah, it was a different thread, one on the saints row official site forums. Anyway, messed with it a little more. In a Void, the homie will spawn inside the Void with you. In a Xor, they either don't spawn at all, or spawn in mid air and fall to the ground. Trying to summon Genki/Saints'Super Saints doesn't work when you're in the air. I guess that proves it, they fixed that glitch in this version of the game. -WilliamRaine (talk) 09:00, August 9, 2016 (UTC)
- Oh, with you in a flying vehicle. I misunderstood as I had previously commented about performing the glitch to duplicate a flying vehicle.
- Anyone claiming that "if you did it in a flying vehicle, the homie would spawn in a flying vehicle" clearly doesn't understand the glitch, as you choose which vehicle spawns.
- "Trying to summon Genki/Saints'Super Saints doesn't work when you're in the air." as in the Homies don't arrive at all?
- Regarding the homie "spawning" inside the Void, it sounds to me like the Homie is just teleporting there, which they would do whether or not a vehicle spawned with them. But I'll do some tests to see if there's a difference. -452 10:56, August 9, 2016 (UTC)
- You can't even select it, the option is grayed out. I have to fly really close to the ground before it lets me summon them. Also, sorry about the confusion. -WilliamRaine (talk) 12:41, August 9, 2016 (UTC)
Would be Nice if....[]
Would be Nice if they added the ability to deliver aircrafts and boats from your garage Queen Darkness Von Haven (talk) 23:47, March 20, 2014 (UTC)
- Boat delivery is possible in Saints Row 2.
- Talk pages are for discussing improvements to articles, not for wishlists. -452 (talk) 23:52, March 20, 2014 (UTC)
Phrasing[]
Which reads better?
- In Saints Row IV, whenever a homie is called, a random duplicate of the last delivered vehicle randomly spawns nearby.
- In Saints Row IV, after having a vehicle delivered, a random duplicate of the same vehicle spawns nearby any time a regular Homie is called.
I think the first one might be a little more easy to understand than the second one. -452 05:45, August 9, 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah, the first does sound more clear. -WilliamRaine (talk) 09:02, August 9, 2016 (UTC)
