Nomenclature[]
- My first instinct was that this article was better suited as a section of the Police article, but then I realised that the Stilwater Police Department article is actually more about the organisation than the actual policemen in the city, and there's no actual article about police in general!
- I'm not at home right now, but next week I'll look through the game files to see what the internal name for the security organisation is. Are mall security and nuclear plant security any different than prison security guards? -452 21:11, July 3, 2011 (UTC)
- Well, what I do know is that the Nuclear and mall security are both owned by Ultor but the court jail and bank security wear different uniform than the nuclear and mall, which is a security uniform, I think mall and nuclear is Ultor security which I could make a new page about? - I would recommend helping improve existing articles before creating too many new pages. And you should definitely work on improving this article first as well.
- You may be correct, about an Ultor Security page, since the existing Ultor page is more about the storyline organisation. But since most Law Enforcement groups have basically the same behaviour, especially the security guards and normal police, perhaps they should be on a combined "Law Enforcement" page instead of individual pages, what do you think? -452 21:51, July 3, 2011 (UTC)

- I guess that would work James3456 07:36, July 4, 2011 (UTC)
- I was thinking of combining all the security together on this page. So like Ultor security and normal, when your back home, i was wondering, do normal security uard the booths for the entrance to Wardill Airport? James3456 09:00, July 4, 2011 (UTC)
- That sounds like a good idea, go for it. (Still not home, but I will definitely check on that.) -452 23:59, July 4, 2011 (UTC)
- Strings regarding "security":
- "STAT_ULTOR_SECURITY_KILLED": "Number of Ultor Security killed"
- "MSN_BH09_ELIMINATE_GANG": "Eliminate the [format][color:red]Ultor security team[/format]"
- That's all :( But I had forgotten about: Forum:SR2 Character List, which defines Security guards as variants of NPC_cop. There's a reference to NPC_security, but NPC_security isn't listed there, but it does have a preset file:
- The preset file for "npc_security" only says:
- Character = npc_cop
- Spawn_Info_Rank = Patrolman
- Team = Police
- AI_Personality = police normal
- CharacterType = guard_security
- All the different security uniforms are defined in the NPC_cop file. Ultor badge wearing guards are defined as "Character_Type = goon", and other security guards are defined as "Character_Type = guard_security"
- The preset file for "npc_ultor_goon" says:
- Character = npc_cop
- Spawn_Info_Rank = Patrolman
- Team = Ultor
- AI_Personality = police normal
- CharacterType = goon
- So it looks like there are only two types of security guards, Ultor and Police, and both of those are variants of normal police.
- For reference, the available Police variants are: beat, bike, boat, goon, prison, security. And each of those has Asian, Black, Hispanic and White in Male and Female. There's also a White Female Receptionist type.
- I hope this helps! Tomorrow I'll make a full list of the differences between each police variant. -452 13:43, July 7, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks very much for that it has helped. :) so there are ultor and normal, so i guess, in game, they're defined by their badges :) James3456 20:54, July 7, 2011 (UTC) 20:52, July 7, 2011 (UTC)
Law Enforcement[]
There still isn't much info about actual Police NPCs, and I'm unsure what to do about it. Renaming the article to "Law Enforcement" doesn't exactly address it, because technically, anything which uses the "Police Notoriety" bar is a type of law enforcement, which also includes:
All of which have their own articles.
As previously stated, there are 6 police variants:
- Police: beat, bike, boat, goon, prison, security
The last 3 Police variants are "Security Guards". So, either Stilwater Police Department needs more info, or we need an article named "Police". --452 02:24, April 6, 2012 (UTC)
Overbearing Mall Cops[]
The Ultor Security guards act like act like stereotypical overbearing rent-a-cops. The kind who want to be real police officers or military but don't have the fitness or other qualifications, so they inflate themselves to feel more important and powerful than they really are. That should be noted somewhere. (unsigned: 50.24.23.82 - 2016-10-18 20:45:18)
