I noticed that it's impossible for the player and hostages to fly through the windshield during this diversion. Is it true or it's possible to do it? --TheMoonLightman (talk) 00:50, February 9, 2013 (UTC)
I haven't noticed, but I'm going to have to try it now. -452 14:09, February 9, 2013 (UTC)
Well, more than 1 year has passed since I've started this discussion.. :P Anyways, new things I discovered about Hostage diversion are:
Flying through the windshield is impossible during diversion - I've tried crashing into walls and big vehicles a lot of times, neither the Protagonist nor hostages are able to fly through;
Killing Hostage while he/she is in vehicle is impossible too (during diversion) - I've enabled Cruise Control in vehicle, then quickly got out, shot Hostage in the head, Hostage was still alive. Destroying vehicle during diversion will kill Hostage, however;
Starting Hostage diversion on a bike, then using Samurai Sword and pressing "Attack" button will kill hostage. (maybe because falling from the bike will kill civilians, so does with hostage)
Nice work! I did try experimenting, but didn't get very far. I knew about jumping out while cruise control was on, but I never tried to kill the hostage - good thinking! -452 03:16, August 1, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. As I said, killing hostages is impossible, shooting at them while they're in car. Speaking about exploding vehicle while hostages are inside, sometimes hostages may survive after car exploded (with low health). It probably happens because Hostages' health is infinite during this diversion, or it is just high. (confirming with game files would be appreciated) TheMoonLightman (talk) 03:32, August 1, 2013 (UTC)
In SR1, I just got into a 3 passenger Quasar with Laura as a Homie and started Hostage, and it acted as if I had 3 Hostages ($3000). So far, I have only done this with Laura pulling one of the passengers out after I start Hostage. If there is only one passenger, the Ransom drops to $0 before immediately failing due to the Hostage escaping. -452 (talk) 02:21, March 9, 2014 (UTC)
Just tested this in SR2 and it worked (tried with Shaundi as a homie and 1 passenger as Hostage). Apparently it also works in SRTT and SRIV – I expect the same results as in SR1 and 2.
