We need a headquarters for our startup that isn't our apartment
— Eli

Take Me To Church is the eighth mission in Saints Row (reboot).

Overview[]

The four protagonists have a meeting on how to start a gang, when they realize they need a headquarters. Neenah remembers a church in Mercado district, which they decide to take over.

The quartet head to the site to find a demolition crew, and Eli suggests that the owner of the property, John Blande, wants to tear down the old church and build condominiums instead. The Boss then can enter the Diggum front loader in the church yard to demolish the construction site. The demolition crew will flee at some point, and security guards contracted from Marshall Defense Industries arrive and attack.

After the interruption, the Boss and Kevin try to press Blande to give the church property to them and ring him up. The phone call suggests, that Blande can be found at City Hall. The two hijack his Eiswolf which is parked in front of the building, and take him for a little ride.

Blande has had enough after a while, and the crew are the proud owners of Blande's briefcase, the Church and the Eiswolf, and can return to the Church.

There is no key, so the player must find a way to open the door from the inside. Another phone call announces an attack of the Idols, and they must take them out in the yard and inside of the building.

When the last of the Idols is down, the players have a moment to lean back and watch a cutscene of the friends admiring their new headquarters and naming themselves "The Saints".

Trivia[]

  • The second portion of the mission where the Boss must persuade the estate owner by driving crazily is similar to All the King's Men from Saints Row, except the latter isn't dragged out of the car.
  • The mission title references the 2013 indie rock/pop song "Take Me To Church" by Hozier
  • The final cutscene after The Boss called themselves "The Saints" shows a camera angle of The Boss looking like that he/she has angel wings making the sign as a start of a new criminal empire. Its possible that the scene was intentional or a coincidence.
  • The apartment's Wardrobe, Weapon Cache, Garage, and Fast Travel points will no longer be available after this mission, but the player can still enter in to sleep and the clear notoriety.
