Security Guards are a minor enemy faction in the Saints Row franchise. They appear in Saints Row and Saints Row 2 as enemies. They also appear in Saints Row: The Third and Saints Row IV as normal civilians rather than enemies, and in Saints Row (reboot) as members of Marshall Defense Industries.
Overview[]
Security Guards do not appear as significant characters, and can be seen protecting Businesses, or driving armoured Titan vans. The weapons the Guards use include the VICE 9, NR4, and sometimes the Tombstone.
Saints Row[]
Unlike Saints Row 2, Guards in the first game are not affiliated in any way with the Stilwater Police Department, and can even fight them if provoked, making them more of a gang like the Pimps, rather than Law Enforcement.
Saints Row 2[]
Saints Row 2 have a three different types of Security: Ultor, Prison, and Normal Security. All guard types will attack the player upon gaining Notoriety.
Standard Security[]
Standard security guards are the most commonly seen type in Saints Row 2. They can be found at the Nuclear Power Plant, the Courthouse, the Stilwater Savings & Loan bank and the security booths at Wardill Airport.
They wear beige police shirts, silver plated badges, black ties, grey trousers, and a black cap with the "Security" logo. Only male variants of this type exist.
Prison Security[]
Prison Guards are found at the Stilwater Penitentiary, and at the Courthouse in Appointed Defender.
They wear tan police shirts with gold plated badges, no tie, dark grey trousers, and a black cap with the "Guard" logo. They are the only type to have both Male and Female variants.
Ultor Security[]
Ultor security guards are found at Saint's Row, Round Squares Shopping Mall, Stilwaters Caverns and The Pyramid. Unlike other security guards, Ultor security guards act as the only law enforcement within territory controlled by Ultor, and have unique vehicle liveries and voice lines.
They wear charcoal plain shirts with Ultor ID badges, black trousers, orange ties, and charcoal caps with an Ultor logo.
Ultor security guards use more advanced weaponry than normal security guards, such as NR4s, Tombstones, and sometimes even AR-50 XMACs. The guards in the Shopping Center and Caverns tend to rather use Stun Guns, and Pepper Spray as their main source of defense.
Saints Row: The Third and Saints Row IV[]
Security guards in Saints Row: The Third and Saints Row IV act as normal civilians rather than enemies or law enforcement. If the player fires any kind of weapon, they will go into a terrified state, and eventually flee from the area.
The Bodyguards that appear in the Assassination quests however, are scripted to act like enemies.
Saints Row (reboot)[]
Security guards appear in Saints Row (reboot) as members of Marshall Defense Industries.
