In the second mission for Genkibowl VII, the Protagonist escorts Genki around Steelport, causing murder and mayhem, before taking Genki to meet his fans.

Live Action Trailer

A non-canonical live action trailer, created by Tim and Eric, was released which depicted Professor Genki's show. Professor Genki does not talk, instead communicating by his "pleasure bar" which is adjusted by tapping or waving his staff. The show features a cult-like audience and a bizarre atmosphere.[1]

It is revealed that Professor Genki was a renowned professor of science at the Science University College of Science. Genki taught along side Todd who just so happens to be a cat whom he loved they spent every second together but Genki was growing old so after classes he worked a magical device to make the two being in to one so they could live forever in harmony half man half cat.The experiment was a success, people were in awe of Professor Genki's new form, as his head had morphed into that of a cat's.He then became the international spiritual leader. The experiment wasn't without side-effects, as Genki's enlarged brain gave him powers far beyond any mortal and an insatiable appetite for wet cat food and human brains. He became all powerful and supreme and our worshiped leader, the nature of Genki is irreversible. It is unknown if this backstory is considered canon as due to the fact Tim & Eric are not officially a part of the game.[2]

Trivia

Genki Dead

Killing him rewards the player with a lot of cash - usually either $100,000 or $300,000 - just be sure to pick up the dropped money.

  • "Genki" translated from Japanese to English is equivalent to "energetic", a notable trait of his.
  • Professor Genki has his own troupe of scantily-clad assistants known as the Genki Girls.
  • The wide grin on Professor Genki's face and the fact that he is a cat is likely an homage to the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland.
  • Professor Genki has become the unofficial mascot for Saints Row: The Third.
  • Professor Genki's speech draws heavily from Japanese stereotypes and Engrish.
  • Despite the fact Professor Genki is heard with a deep, stereotypical Japanese-English voice in the Genki trailer, in commercials promoting his game show in Saints Row the Third, he is heard with a higher pitched, nearly cartoonish voice.
    • Because of his high pitched voice and the fact that he refers to himself in the third person, as seen in the quotes above, Professor Genki's voice seems to be a parody of Elmo from Sesame Street.
  • In a Saints Row: The Third livestream, V-Singular (Volition, Inc.'s community manager) revealed that there is a 1 in 100 chance that Professor Genki will spawn in the world. If the player kills him they will get "big prizes".[3] As of now, this prize is either $100,000 or $300,000, and the player will level up. Genki spawns with weapons (typically the Annihilator or Stun Gun, and sometimes nothing at all) and a large amount of health, so he will fight back. He can make you involuntarily breakdance (Similar to the Mollusk Launcher) and can stun you by hitting you in the balls.
  • When he spawns he acts in a similar way to Zombie Gat as he starts to attack everyone around him until everyone but the player is left.
  • Running into any owned store will despawn Professor Genki
  • Genki is very strong, without any weapons one hit can deal a great amount of damage. But should the player have the Apoca-fists, it will greatly reduce the time of battle. As it will always make Genki go rag-doll and constantly hit him while in rag-doll due to his oversized head. Another way to kill him easily is to park your car on him.
