Lakeshore South is a neighborhood in the Lakeshore District in Santo Ileso.
Overview[]
As the name implies, is the southern portion of Lakeshore, the central bussiness district of Santo Ileso. It is located in the base of the peninsula and thus is only partially bordered by water: in the west by the Lake Sebastian and by Velasco Bay in the northwest. It limits with Sanatorium Flats (both east and west) by the south and southwest, with Lakeshore North in the north and northwest and with Badlands North in the west. The area is the western terminus of Padilla Bridge.
The southern section of Lakeshore is slightly smaller than the northern half, and also very similar in chracter but with some differences as well. Lakeshore South can be divided into three areas, whose names are referred in-game in street map panels found around the entire district. The northern part of the neighborhood is very similar to North Lakeshore, with less skyscrapers but with higher density. Spaces around the streets are scarse, and along with the old buildings and the design of many of the streetlights remind larger cities as Chicago (the birthplace of the creator of the district, Antoni M. Jasinski). This density contrasts, however, with the vast open space of Jasinski Park in the center of the neighborhood. This area, which is referred in-game as Downtown, could thus serve as the "historical" area of the district. The park itself is an important cultural and touristic hub in Santo Ileso, with a number of public displays of art, expensive shops and the Jasinski Library. East of that area is a large block dominated by the Santo Ileso Medical Center, a large hospital. The eastern side of the neighborhood is fronted by the lake and is almost entirely occupied by a park. In the center of it is one of the most famous landmarks of the city: the Marshall Building, which serves as the headquarters of Marshall Defense Industries. Under the park runs an underpass that connects Lakeshore with Padilla Bridge; a viaduct connects the bridge with the southernmost tip of the neighborhood and district.
