Health is a feature in Saints Row, Saints Row 2, Saints Row: The Third and Saints Row IV.

Description

The Health Bar is located in the upper right corner of the screen. If the Bar totally depletes, The Protagonist is "Smoked" and respawn at the nearest Hospital.

The Health refills in one of two ways:

Time: The Health slowly regenerates over time as long as additional damage is not taken.
Food: Eating Food restores Health. A maximum of four pieces of food can be carried.

Saints Row IV

Health system is more different than in first three games. The Health bar color is now blue. Apart from this, Health doesn't regenerate if The Protagonist has 2 bars of Notoriety or more, and Health is be regenerated only through the health pickups, dropped from the enemies and civilians (if "Pedestrian Carnage" upgrade is purchased).

There are two types of health pickups:

Small (regenerates less Health)
Large (regenerates more Health)

Rewards

Double Health Regeneration
Triple Health Regeneration

There are unlockable rewards which increase Health Regeneration.

Saints Row

In Saints Row, Health regeneration speed increases are unlocked by completing all Insurance Fraud activities.

Saints Row 2

In Saints Row 2, Health Regeneration speed increases are unlocked through the Snatch activity in the Chinatown District. Double Health Regeneration is awarded for completing 3 levels, and triple Health Regeneration is awarded for completing all 6.

Damage Reduction is unlockable through other activities

Reduced Bullet Damage (5%) - Heli Assault Level 3, Barrio
Reduced Bullet Damage (15%) - Heli Assault Level 6, Barrio
Reduced Explosion Damage (5%) - Trail Blazing Level 3, Downtown
Reduced Explosion Damage (15%) - Trail Blazing Level 6, Downtown
Reduced Vehicle Damage (5%) - Insurance Fraud Level 3 Museum
Reduced Vehicle Damage (15%) - Insurance Fraud Level 6 Museum
Reduced Falling Damage (100%) - 3 Gold Stars Base Jumping

Saints Row: The Third

In Saints Row: The Third, Health upgrades are purchased through the Upgrades menu in the Cellphone. There are 8 upgrades available.

Regen
- Level Required: 3
- Description: Health regenerates slightly faster.

Regen 2
- Level Required: 9
- Description: Health regenerates faster.

Regen 3
- Level Required: 18
- Description: Health regenerates much faster.

Regen 4
- Level Required: 29
- Description: Health regenerates extremely fast.

Upgrade
- Level Required: 6
- Description: Player health is increased by 25%.

Upgrade 2
- Level Required: 14
- Description: Player health is increased by 50%.

Upgrade 3
- Level Required: 24
- Description: Player health is increased by 75%.

Upgrade 4
- Level Required: 36
- Description: Player health is increased by 100%.

Saints Row IV

Same as in Saints Row: The Third, Health upgrades are purchased through Upgrades menu in the HUB. There are 11 upgrades available.

Pedestrian Carnage
- Level Required: 2
- Pedestrians now drop health pickups when they die.

Pickups Value
- Level Required: 2
- Slightly increase the value of all health pickups.

Pickups Value 2
- Level Required: 16
- Moderately increase the value of all health pickups.

Pickups Value 3
- Level Required: 30
- Greatly increase the value of all health pickups.

Upgrade
- Level Required: 2
- Player health is increased by 25%

Upgrade 2
- Level Required: 14
- Player health is increased by 50%

Upgrade 3
- Level Required: 24
- Player health is increased by 75%

Upgrade 4
- Level Required: 36
- Player health is increased by 100%

Vacuum
- Level Required: 8
- Slightly increase the range at which health pickups will be sucked toward you.

Vacuum 2
- Level Required: 18
- Moderately increase the range at which health pickups will be sucked toward you.

Vacuum 3
- Level Required: 32
- Greatly increases the range at which health pickups will be sucked toward you.
