Description

CID was once some sort of alien life form, who was enslaved by Zinyak in a simulation. His physical body perished long ago, so he programmed his conscious into the simulation itself.[1] Though he is a pessimistic opportunist who only works for the Protagonist in a mercenary manner, never fully trusting him or giving him anything for free, he always keeps his word and remains a consistent ally. The Protagonist compensates CID with a physical body, the completion of various tasks in the simulation, and a date with Shaundi. Towards the end of the game, he and the virtual Fun Shaundi find that they have good chemistry and agree to a date. When Fun Shaundi asks if he functions as a bong, CID is uncharacteristically generous and says "For you, I would find a way".[2] During Grand Finale, CID takes precautions to protect only himself, and as he delivers the key he excludes the protagonist and the Saints from his exacting revenge. Even tell the Protagonist not to ruin his moment of revenge.

CID expresses prejudice towards humans during his first encounter with the Protagonist[1], and is critical of the Protagonist's selfish and inconsiderate nature especially. Just before rescuing Ben King, CID zaps the player in the groin after having an argument with him over an unknown subject. CID is a romantic option and seems to be able to perform oral sex.

Trivia

  • He gets his name from the abbreviated name for his body that the saints give him, "A Control and Interface Device".
  • CID's appearance is similar to the personality cores from the Portal video games and the eyebots from the Fallout video games. Also is similar to 343 Guilty Spark from Halo series.
  • Based on conversation between Zach and Bobby during Prof. Genki's M.O.M., it is possible that C.I.D was the king of an alien race of warriors whose mind was ripped out of his body and placed deep within the simulation.
  • Upon closer inspection of CID's object design, one can notice that the black bands bound to his frame by rings resemble a leather harness. This can also be seen on the unlockable CID Suit costume.
  • There is a disembodied head inside of CID, as well as all enemy C.I.D.s. It is a blonde version of Kinzie, and is named as such in the game data files.Broken {{ref}} (outdated style)
  • When called up as a homie he does not attack in anyway even though in one cutscene CID is seen using some sort of weapon to hurt The Protagonist.Template:When?
