The Butterfly Knife is a melee weapon in Saints Row 2.

Overview

It is one of the weakest weapons in the game, so weak that fists are a better alternative. It is commonly used by prostitutes and random Civilians, and is available at Brass Knuckles from the beginning of the game for $50.

Trivia

• There is no Cheat for this weapon.
• Although they are different weapons with a different HUD icon, the Knife uses the same "p_butterflyknife" model which is used by the Butterfly Knife and all fighting animations are the same. The correct knife model as used in Saints Row, "p_knife", is in the game data files.
• In the Saints Row mission "Best Laid Plans...", Johnny Gat holds a Butterfly Knife in the "Decisions, Decisions" cutscene, but in game, only the Knife is available as a weapon.
  • This knife is defined as a "cutscene character" rather than a real weapon.
• In Saints Row: The Third mission "I'm Free - Free Falling", Phillipe Loren uses a visually similar knife, but this knife is not available.
