Boss Factory is a defunct free demo for Saints Row.

Overview[]

The Boss Factory allows players to customize and dress their Boss before the release of the game. Characters created in the Boss Factory are automatically imported into the full game. Up to 6 player characters can be saved in the demo.^[1]

The Boss Factory also allows players to share and download characters created by other players, using a unique "share code" generated for each character. Up to 24 player characters can be shared in the demo. All public shared characters can be viewed on the Boss Factory page on the official Saints Row site. Player characters can only be found through assignable tags or through the unique share code, and cannot be named.

Released on June 9th 2022, Boss Factory is available on PC exclusively through the Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. Registering for a Saints Row account gives the player a Marshall Rocket Launcher^[2] and using Boss Factory to share creations unlocks two DJ helmets^[3].^[4]

Shutdown[]

due to an expired yearly server contract that most likely won't be renewed because of Volition's shutdown, Boss Factory and Community Bosses are no longer available.

Contents[]

Players can fully customize their character, with body, outfit, tattoo, and personality customization. Players are only given access to a small number of customization items compared to the full game.^[4] Customization items and options unlocked through gameplay are also unavailable, such as the Wingsuit and colors from Cutting Edge.
