Blackbeard is a character in Saints Row: Gat out of Hell.
Overview[]
Blackbeard's Glyphs & Treasure Chests[]
After rallying Blackbeard during the "Charge Halo" quest, the player is provided another side activity, which involves the practice of treasure hunting. This objective incentivises Johnny Gat and/or Kinzie Kensington to search each district in New Hades for markers known as "Glyphs"; which are required to gain access to a hidden treasure chests in that area. In order to unlock said chests, a set of 3 Glyphs from one, specific district must be gathered to unlock the chest in the same area, respectively.
Although functionally a "hidden collectable" in the open world, Glyphs are completely characterized in a bright, yellow glow; illuminating so explicitly that each marker can be quite easily found, even from a great distance, and even when the player isn't concentrated on finding them.
Although a challenge to identify specifically, the visuals of each Glyph appear to be comprised of two Flintlock Pistols crossed together with the with a heart vertically centred above. An "ooze" dripping downward from both guns and the heart are possibly intended to mimic blood.
Not only are the Glyphs easy to spot, but they are also accustomed by a "pirate" theme, which echoes as the player character draws near. The closer the player is, the clearer and louder the theme becomes. It spans a total of 20 seconds before looping indefinitely, until the player grabs the marker.

Trivia[]
- Blackbeard is based upon the real life historical figure Blackbeard, Edward Teach.
- In real life, Blackbeard's flagship was named Queen Anne's Revenge. The Achievements use this name to refer to his ship. The subtitles for the Shawarma cutscene spell it incorrectly as "Queen's Anne's Revenge".
- Although not included as a weapon in Saints Row: Gat Out Of Hell, the Flintlock Pistol, as seen on Blackbeard's Glyphs, is a weapon costume for the Heavy Pistol in Saints Row IV, but requires the Pirate's Booty Pack DLC to be activated.
