The Bear is a vehicle in Saints Row 2, Saints Row: The Third and Saints Row IV. It appears in Saints Row: Gat out of Hell as Soul in One.
Overview[]
The Bear is an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) used by law enforcement and is sometimes erroneously referred to as a tank. It is used by SWAT, Ultor and SNG who use it to pursue Playa in addition to setting up road blocks. They generally appear at four-star Notoriety level.
It has only two doors (One in the left side and other in the rear), but it allows 6 passengers. In all games it is equipped with a siren, red/blue lights and a mounted machine gun. In Saints Row: The Third and onwards, the Bear gains additional changes, including a more prominent wheelbase, grilled headlights and some accessories on the sides.
The version used in New Hades is named "Soul in One", and has a black and red colour scheme, with more defenses on the front end and red horns surrounding the vehicle.
Performance[]
The Bear's handling is not the best, but it is fast in addition to being strong enough to take multiple direct missile hits. Apart from the destructive force, enough for smashing through cars with ease, the Bear features a Mounted .50 cal machine gun. In Co-op, the passenger takes control of the gun. The Bear is most useful for;
- Activities/Diversions like Snatch, Drug Trafficking, Drive-by, Gang Operation, Hitman/Assassination and Survival challenges.
- Acquiring weapons that are not yet available at Friendly Fire by killing and looting opponents at a high Notoriety level.
- Acquiring other vehicles like the Challenger tank or the FBI SUV that only spawn at a high Notoriety level.
Obtaining[]
Saints Row 2[]
- Ultor-marked Bears will appear in the Saint's Row district at level 3 (and is unlocked in the garage after completing Pyramid Scheme, while SWAT-marked Bears will appear elsewhere at level 4. The law enforcement decals cannot be removed during Vehicle Customization.
- An unmarked Bear can be obtained during the FUZZ activity at levels 5 or above. One of the possible scenarios is a civilian driving a Bear; enter the Bear when they have been killed and either quit or finish the activity.
- Other variants are not legitimately obtainable.
Saints Row: The Third[]
Bears do not spawn when STAG are in Steelport and are replaced by N-Forcers.
- Unmarked Bears spawn elsewhere at Notoriety level 5 while on foot or in a motorcycle.
- SNG-marked Bears spawn in the Sierra Point neighborhood at Notoriety level 3 or above.
- SWAT-marked Bears can be obtained at Notoriety level 4 elsewhere from Police roadblocks.
- Because Roadblocks do not spawn in Saints Row: The Third Remastered, the SWAT-marked Bear is not obtainable there.
Saints Row IV[]
- Start On-Foot Mayhem near Broken Shillelagh.
- When a Bear arrives, generate the black hole near it so that the driver is ejected from the Bear.
- Push the Bear with Super Sprint to the activity start location, with the door facing the Broken Shillelagh.
- Wait until the activity fails, and exit the activity.
- Continually press the "Enter Vehicle" button to enter it before it disappears.
Alternatively, it can be obtained during "Batteries Not Included" by entering any Bear and cancelling the mission.
